About the Shop
Our store is set out in ‘departments’ according to age of the child or type of play. The toys are arranged from left to right, in order of ‘easy’ to ‘more challenging’. High up on the wall are posters explaining the 8 Stages of Child’s Play, and below each are the toys for each of the age-groups.
Creative activities such as painting, sand-art, model-making and doughplay are important for right-brain development, and we stock basic art supplies for children. We also stock a wide range of activity books in numeracy and literacy to help the school- going child.
Toddler toys tend to focus on basic motor skills (hands-on!). Farm animals and vehicles feature prominently in play.
Our construction sets occupy several shelves – we stock Zoob, Lego, Planx, Bloco and many other forms of construction.
Our Baby Section stocks toys for babies from birth … black and white mobiles, rattles and other developmental aids.
There are exciting costumes to dress up in! Dolls, tea-sets, swords, pirate sets, cars, trucks and planes encourage imagination and language.
From knobbed puzzles and 2pc jigsaws to 4000 pc jigsaws, we stock them all! They’re important for visual skills and to develop patience and persevererance! The boxed games are important for visual perception, as well as developing skills in strategy, planning and social co-operation.
